Join Rotarians from across the District and further afield at the picturesque Lion Quays Resort set by the waterside near Oswestry for the 2024 Rotary District 1210 Conference, with the theme of “Peace and Friendship”.
The District Conference for 2024 will be held at the Lion Quays Hotel and Spa, Lion Quays Resort, Weston Rhyn, Gobowen, Oswestry. Shropshire SY11 3EN on Saturday 28th September. There will be speakers, activities and displays from Rotarians and non-Rotarians. The aim is to inspire thinking, share practice and generate ideas. Everyone will be able to renew and gain new friendships while having fun.
Refreshments will be available as delegates arrive before the conference formally starts at 9.30am. The programme includes mid-morning and mid-afternoon refreshment breaks along with a buffet lunch, each with time to browse the stands. The £46.50 (early-bird) charge for the conference includes all refreshments, snacks and lunch. With everything on site, the programme allows for plenty of interesting and inspiring content whilst allowing time for relaxation and fellowship with other delegates. The early-bird rate is valid for all bookings received on or before 1st August 2024. The rate for bookings received after this date is £51.50.
Conference Venue
The Lion Quays Resort is a truly magnificent setting for the District 1210 Conference. The hotel is a 4-star venue with a very high standard throughout, situated in beautiful countryside alongside the landscaped canal. Make more of the weekend
We know many Rotarians like to make a weekend (or longer) of their conference stay. We have negotiated special rates for dinner, bed & breakfast at the hotel for Friday and Saturday, and there will be optional fellowship events on each evening. For those who do stay at the hotel over the weekend the leisure facilities are excellent and included in the room rates. There is a swimming pool and well equipped gym, with a range of additional beauty treatments and services are available at extra cost.
Friday evening is a social evening
For those joining us on Friday there will be a reserved area of the hotel with bar snacks / meals available to suit all diets and budgets. Join other Rotarians whenever you can for an informal evening of fellowship.
Saturday Evening Conference Dinner
2024/25 District Governor Jane invites you to join her and the Conference team for an evening of good food and fellowship. A three-course dinner will be followed by entertainment. The evening begins at 6:30pm, and tickets for this special event are just £37.50.
You don’t have to be resident at the hotel to join us, and we have timed the evening to allow those who wish to extend the day to join us and still be able to drive home.

Things to do and see in the area
The venue is well situated for several local attractions including the town of Oswestry, Chirk Castle (National Trust), the British Ironwork Centre & Shropshire Sculpture Park, and the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct & its neighbouring visitor centre. There is also a golf course a short distance from the hotel.
